  • Chad is the former editor-in-chief of Woodcraft Magazine, a national woodworking how-to publication.
  • He's had the privileged pleasure of speaking with woodworking royalty, such as Mark Spagnuolo and Nick Offerman.
  • He has written and edited hundreds of DIY how-to articles and contributed to several craft books.

Experience

Chad's writing experience can be traced back to his bad teenage poetry. Professionally speaking, though, he got his start writing headlines for the local paper, The Parkersburg News & Sentinel, in his hometown of Parkersburg, WV. He also did some copywriting work at advertising agencies and worked as a technical writer and content creator at a marketing firm. However, it was his years at a woodworking publication that taught him his true love: how-to writing. He enjoys expressing complex ideas in easy-to-understand terms. Chad doesn't only write about these topics; he is himself a woodworker and enjoys designing and building furniture of all kinds, as well as tackling the occasional DIY or home improvement project.

Education

Chad went to school at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for graphic design. He also attended The JD Lohr School of Woodworking and
West Virginia University of Parkersburg.
